Who We Are
When we started our law firm, we wanted two things: a law firm that had the time to listen to clients and a platform from which we could realize our objective of helping to make a difference in the lives of our clients. At our law firm, we value our relationship with our clients. It’s part of the reason why we went into law and part of what we enjoy most about our practice.
Our Focus
We do not believe that a lawyer can be good at everything. With the changes in the law happening every day, we believe that a lawyer who tries to handle a lot of different areas of the law is really not doing a very good job handling any area of the law. Because of this belief, we focus our practice very narrowly. We believe this allows us to provide a higher level of service to our clients and allows us to gain an authoritative knowledge in our areas. We also believe that this level of focus helps us to attain our most important objective, helping you protect what matters most.
Misty Becker handles divorce and family law matters in Shelby, Fayette and Tipton Counties. While she is willing to work beyond those areas, most often cost is prohibitive and in those instances we can usually refer you to a practitioner in your area. Our firm’s approach in family law matters if to first look for a workable solution instead of unnecessary litigation. Experience has taught that a good solution that the parties achieve on their own is preferable to litigation. However, if the other side is not willing to be reasonable, we are not afraid to go into court and litigate aggressively to protect our client’s rights.
James Becker handles employment law matters, representing both individuals and small to medium size businesses. The focus of this practice is in on helping to maintain a workplace that pays a lawful wage and is free from unlawful discrimination and harassment. In addition to working the advice and litigation side of employment law, Mr. Becker is also a Rule 31 listed mediator with the Tennessee Supreme Court is mediates employment law matters.
